Art is a powerful gift that has the ability to transcend, allowing us to see beyond ourselves. In its many forms it can be encouraging, challenging, and even a little offensive all at the same time. Its gives a visual voice to invisible ideas like empathy, sadness, compassion, joy, and anger. When we sit with it, it can have a profound effect on our lives, changing how we connect and interact with ourselves and with other human beings.

This belief in art is why we exist, and why we continue to create and encourage others to do the same. It is also the reason behind Velcrokid’s new cafe. We wanted a physical space that was a beacon for the arts and a place for people to gather, be inspired, challenged, and connect.

We are grateful for this space, for our community, and for the gift of art which we will continue to explore as a means of connection.
